Summer to Fall Outfit

Grabbing inspiration from the style of Sally and Gillian Owens in the classic film Practical Magic, I decided to grab a knit tank-style dress from my closet that I purchased a few years ago for our trip to Jamaica and paired it with a basic, boxy cardigan and black sandals from Target (both of these items also from a few years ago).

I chose to wear this over Labor Day weekend and here in southeastern Wisconsin, it was still quite toasty in the sun so having the option of the cardigan while we were outside was perfect. This particular dress is designed as a midi length with the slit on the left side, however as I’m only 5’1”, this is closer to a maxi on me. This also makes it easy to transition this piece from a summer dress with sandals to a fall dress with heeled boots.

To spice up the outfit a little, I added a red lip. My favorite long-wear lip color is the Maybelline Liquid Matte Lipstick. This red is absolute perfection and is a little bit deeper, not quite as orange/yellow undertone-y than some reds.
